Local Jewish basketball players honored
Local Jewish basketball players honoredFour South Florida Jewish high school basketball players are excited and motivated for this upcoming season after being honored by Jewish Hoops America (JHA) for their play last year.These local athletes were recognized by JHA as some of the best Jewish high school basketball players throughout the United States and Canada for the 2015-16 season.These players are: Ben Tal, an 11th grade guard for the Rabbi Alexander S. Gross Hebrew Academy in Miami Beach who was selected to first team All-Jewish Hoops America and named Underclassman of the Year; Ethan Lasko, a 12th grade guard for Katz Yeshiva High School of South Florida in Boca Raton, who was also named to the first team; Joey Levy, an 11th grade guard for the David Posnack Jewish Day School in Davie, who was named to the second team; and Jack Esformes, an 11th grade guard for the RASG Hebrew Academy who was recognized as an honorable mention for the All-JHA teams.
