WUSA9 : reported that Georgetown basketball players help mom, son after crash

JESSUP, MD (WUSA9) - Georgetown University basketball players helped a mother and son after the team's bus crashed into their SUV Monday afternoon, police said. The bus pulled off to the side and the basketball players helped the injured mother and son. No basketball players were injured. Around 2:30 p.m., police responded to a traffic crash on northbound I-95 north of Rt. Investigators say the Lexus and bus were northbound on the interstate when the bus hit the back of the SUV.

Two GCU women's basketball players suspended for fight vs. CSU Bakersfield, Marina Laramie

(Photo: David Wallace/azcentral sports)The Grand Canyon University women's basketball team won't have Marina Laramie and Zelor Massaquoi for Thursday's game at UT-Rio Grande Valley because of their involvement in a fight during a game at CSU Bakersfield on Saturday. CSU Bakersfield has three players serving one-game suspensions, including a player who left the bench during the altercation. The Western Athletic Conference investigated an altercation between the two teams and suspended the two players for one game after being ejected for fighting. According to Bakersfield.com, a brawl erupted in the fourth quarter that resulted in the ejection of eight CSU Bakersfield players and a 37-minute delay.
